Lives Ablaze summer youth camp for students currently in grades 6-12 will take place at inlow.  June 28-July2.  Sign Up Now.  $50 deposit is due by May 25.  Total cost for camp is only $180, but Soul Rio is offsetting the first $40 for each camper, making the cost only $140 per person.  We will also have some partial scholarships available.  If you would like to consider helping a with a scholarship or sponsoring a Chaperone, please contact Floyd or Pam.  Campers can begin making installment payments at anytime.  Call Pam at 792-8737 if you have any questions.

If you haven’t yet attended Class 1.0 our membership class, please come May 16 from 3pm-5pm.  We’ll talk about for things that unite Soul Rio as a family.  Our Salvation, our statement, our strategy and our structure.  Childcare and a light supper is provided.  Please sign up right away at the information table or contact the office at 792-8737 for more information.

Students of Soul Rio’s “Underground” are participating in a 30-Hour Famine on April 23-24, 2010.  Students will fast for 30 hours while fundraising and raising awareness of hunger of poverty.  All proceeds from the Famine will go to World Vision.  Students are seeking financial and prayer sponsors. 

World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine is a worldwide movement of students who are serious about serving God and fighting hunger – all on an empty stomach.  For 30 hours, participants get a taste of hunger by not eating – something more than a billion people around the world experience every day. And by doing fundraising activities, community service projects, and learning more about the facts of world hunger, students are changed in amazing ways as they help others and save lives.

Kids Night April 17 from 5pm-8pm at Soul Rio Church. Music, Pizza and Treats.  Where your favorite sports team or colors.  Parents are invited to take the night off.

This Sunday…

Join us this Sunday, March 28 at 9 and 10:30 a.m. as we begin the message series Lifted Up, with a lesson called “Why the Cross?”  It will be a great time to invite your family and friends. We will have communion this Sunday. Come 30 minutes before for bagels, fruit and fellowship.

On April 2, 2010 starting at 7pm, The Underground will be presenting “At The Cross, “  A dramatic presentation where characters walk out the pages of Scripture to express how their lives overlapped and interwined with Jesus in the wake of his impending crucifixion.  Don’t miss this powerful, free event.  It’s a great time to invite friends and family.  Immediately following the drama, plan to join us for our 2nd Annual Cake Auction.  Bring cake or come bid and support our students Summer Camp.  Contact the office at 792- 8737 or info@soulrio.com for more information.
