To Save A Life (Movie)….September 10

Soul Rio will offer a free movie night to the community Friday. When: September 7, 2010. Time: 7 p.m. Where: Soul Rio Community Church. At some point teen has to decide: What’s my life going to be about? To Save A Life is a movie that dares to bring that question into the world, encouraging them to answer it with boldness, honesty and compassion. This event is available to all of our community, however, the film is rated PG-13 because it deals directly with some difficult but authentic aspects of todays teen life. As such, it is recommended for students entering 8th grade and older. For more information or questions, contact Floyd or the office. The Office Number is 792-8737.

Lives Ablaze Summer Youth Camp

Lives Ablaze summer youth camp for students currently in grades 6-12 will take place at inlow. June 28-July2. Sign Up Now. $50 deposit is due by May 25. Total cost for camp is only $180, but Soul Rio is offsetting the first $40 for each camper, making the cost only $140 per person. We will also have some partial scholarships available. If you would like to consider helping a with a scholarship or sponsoring a Chaperone, please contact Floyd or Pam. Campers can begin making installment payments at anytime. 30 Hour Famine-April 23-24

Students of Soul Rio’s “Underground” are participating in a 30-Hour Famine on April 23-24, 2010. Students will fast for 30 hours while fundraising and raising awareness of hunger of poverty. All proceeds from the Famine will go to World Vision. Students are seeking financial and prayer sponsors.

World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine is a worldwide movement of students who are serious about serving God and fighting hunger – all on an empty stomach. For 30 hours, participants get a taste of hunger by not eating – something more than a billion people around the world experience every day. And by doing fundraising activities, community service projects, and learning more about the facts of world hunger, students are changed in amazing ways as they help others and save lives.
